The soils and micro climate (the “Terrior”) of Whicher Ridge are what makes the vineyard so special.
The vineyard is planted on a north facing slope at an elevation of 170 metres above sea level, which makes it well placed to take advantage of cool winds at night coming off the Southern Ocean during summer cooling down the vineyard. The end result is consistently high quality wines with great flavour intensity and finesse.
In this Meet the Maker, hear from Cathy Howard on how her single variety, single vineyard, single region philosophy has evolved into Whicher Ridge Wines.
